I'm trying to find creative ways to enjoy this cold, winter weather so I bought a bottle of bubbles to play with outside.
I voluntarily went out in -14 F degree weather (-25.5 C) to blow bubbles this morning, and I was looking forward to it. Moral of the story: I need to keep finding creative lures that will get me excited about sub zero temps.
And then the bubble burst . . .
I used orange paint in my bubble mixture. It failed to blow colored bubbles, but tinted the snow and parts of the bubbles after they burst. Might have been better to have chosen a color less like 'yellow snow' but made that observation in hindsight!

Like I said, my colored soap bubble mixture wasn't coloring my bubbles, but when this one burst, it left colored droplets on a thread like weed.
Photo and creation by Betsy Seeton Here's my last bubble pic of the day. I turned it into a very plain Christmas ornament, but kind of neat since it's a soap bubble. I love the way the frozen texture came through. This bubble lasted the longest of any of them. Maybe five minutes!
