GETTING IN TOUCH WITH NATURE -- Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves
of strength that will endure as long as life lasts." ~ Rachel Carson
The babies enjoyed crawling beneath mom when they got a chance. One time, all three had crawled beneath where she was sitting.
Mom watches over her little ones and doesn't let them come to shore unless she's certain it's safe.
It was cooler today; a relief from the much too hot weather of late. The skies were gray-white, so the lighting wasn't optimal for photography, but the wildlife was precious! This was my first time seeing almost newborn Avocets. There were also some young Avocets learning to fly who were all quite vocal as you'll see in the photos below. What a lovely time.
Below were baby Avocets just learning to fly. The would land within five or six feet of my dog and me and talk up a storm! They were adorable to watch. They wouldn't fly far but sure seemed to enjoy their new found talent.
The company I use for this website is Weebly and for some unknown reason random photos of mine appear throughout my postings unrelated to what I uploaded. If a fox appears on a blog about a moose or some other animal or photo unrelated to the blog, you'll know why! It's unfixable.
